Apple is gearing up for its biggest event of the year, where the tech giant will announce an array of highly anticipated products. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 9, at 1 p.m. ET. As of Sept. 7, Apple had not confirmed any of the products it would announce, but tech experts have been predicting several new items, including the iPhone Ultra, the first foldable iPhone. Rumors suggest it could fold like a book, offering a landscape view similar to an iPad mini, with a 7.7- to 7.8-inch inner display and a 5.3- to 5.5-inch outer display. However, it may include compromises such as no Face ID, no telephoto camera, and limitations with wireless charging due to its thin design.
Apple is also expected to announce a new Home Hub, a smart home device resembling an iPad, compatible with Apple HomeKit for lights, thermostats, locks, security cameras, and speakers. Other anticipated products include the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4, AirPods 5, MacBook Ultra and M6 MacBook Pro, M6 iMac, and the newly announced Mac mini, which features the M6 or M5 Pro system chips, enhanced performance, storage, and Apple Intelligence with Siri AI. The Mac mini is available for pre-order now and will be available in stores starting Sept. 22.
Additionally, a week before the event, longtime executive John Ternus took over as Apple CEO on Sept. 1, succeeding Tim Cook, who announced he was stepping down in April. Tech outlets like Forbes, MacRumors, and 9to5Mac have been closely following Apple’s plans and predictions for the event.
